What is the difference between a Big bet and a Small bet in Da Ma Cai?

A Big bet on Da Ma Cai 1+3D is matched against all 23 winning numbers, covering 1st, 2nd, 3rd, the 10 Special numbers and the 10 Consolation numbers. A Small bet is matched only against the top three numbers, but it pays a higher rate on those three prizes than a Big bet does.

Da Ma Cai 1+3D uses one set of winning numbers per draw, but two different ways of settling a ticket. The difference is not in the number you pick. It is in which prize categories your number is checked against, and at what rate it pays.

A Big bet is checked against the full result board. That board holds 23 numbers: 1st Prize, 2nd Prize, 3rd Prize, 10 Special numbers and 10 Consolation numbers. If your four digits appear anywhere on that board, the Big bet pays at the rate set for that tier.

A Small bet is checked against three numbers only, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize. The Special and Consolation categories do not apply to it at all. In exchange, the rate paid on each of the top three prizes is higher than the Big bet rate for the same position.

That is the whole structural tradeoff: coverage across more prize positions on one side, a larger return per matched top prize on the other. Both bet types are settled from the same draw, on the same night, using the same winning numbers.

How much does a Da Ma Cai Big bet pay on RM 1?

On a Big bet of RM 1, Da Ma Cai 1+3D pays RM 3,300 for 1st Prize, RM 2,000 for 2nd Prize, RM 500 for 3rd Prize, RM 180 for Special and RM 60 for Consolation. Those five rates cover every one of the 23 numbers drawn in a standard 1+3D result.

The Big bet payout table for Da Ma Cai 1+3D at RM 1 runs as follows: RM 3,300 on 1st Prize, RM 2,000 on 2nd Prize, RM 500 on 3rd Prize, RM 180 on any of the 10 Special numbers, and RM 60 on any of the 10 Consolation numbers.

The spread between the top and bottom of that table is wide, and it is meant to be. The 1st Prize rate is more than fifty times the Consolation rate, because only one number out of 23 occupies the 1st Prize slot while ten numbers sit in Consolation.

Every number on the board carries a value under a Big bet. A ticket that lands in the Consolation group is still a winning ticket, just at the lowest rate on the table. This is the practical shape of the Big bet: a longer list of outcomes that return something, with a smaller return attached to most of them.

Payout rates are published by the operator and settled against the official result for that draw.

Why does a Small bet pay more on the top three prizes?

A Small bet pays higher rates on 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize because it does not cover the Special or Consolation categories at all. With 20 of the 23 winning numbers excluded from settlement, the higher rate on the three remaining positions is the counterweight built into the bet type.

The Small bet trims the result board down to three numbers. Special and Consolation are outside its scope, so a Da Ma Cai number that appears in either of those groups returns nothing on a Small bet, even though the same number on a Big bet would have paid RM 180 or RM 60 at RM 1.

What the Small bet gives back is rate. The published Small bet payouts on 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize are higher than the corresponding Big bet figures of RM 3,300, RM 2,000 and RM 500. The bet type concentrates its value into the three positions it still covers.

Read as a pair, the two bet types are mirror images. Big spreads value thinly across 23 numbers. Small removes 20 of those numbers and loads the value onto what is left.

Neither structure changes which numbers Da Ma Cai draws, and neither affects the probability of any particular four digits appearing. The draw happens first; the bet type only decides how a result is settled afterwards.

Which prize tiers exist in a Da Ma Cai 1+3D result?

Malaysian 4D draws use five prize tiers and no others: 1st Prize, 2nd Prize, 3rd Prize, Special and Consolation. Da Ma Cai follows that structure, publishing one number each for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, then 10 Special numbers and 10 Consolation numbers, for 23 winning numbers per draw.

Every Da Ma Cai 1+3D result board is laid out the same way. Three numbers sit at the top, one for each of the first three prizes. Below them come 10 Special numbers, then 10 Consolation numbers. Twenty three numbers in total, published together once the draw closes.

Those five tiers are the complete set for Malaysian 4D. There is no sixth category, no bonus row and no rollover tier in the 1+3D game. If you see a number listed on the board, it belongs to one of those five groups.

Da Ma Cai also runs 3D and 6D games on the same draw days. The 3D game works on the same principle as 1+3D with a three digit number in place of four. The 6D game uses a six digit number, with its prize tiers set by how many digits are matched from left to right, so it does not follow the 23 number board described above.

When does Da Ma Cai draw, and do other operators use the same numbers?

Da Ma Cai draws every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, with results announced at around 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM Malaysian time. Each licensed Malaysian operator, including Magnum 4D, Sports Toto, Sabah 4D, Sandakan, Cash Sweep, 8Lucky and Perdana 4D, runs a separate draw with its own winning numbers.

Da Ma Cai holds three draws a week, on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Results are published in the evening, generally in the 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM window, and appear on this site as soon as the official result is out.
